- 3 slices bacon
- ½ lb ground beef
- ½ small onion
- ½ red bell pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 28oz canned baked beans
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 4 dashes worcestershire sauce
Cook diced bacon over medium low heat until crisp. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, around 5-6 minutes.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into small chunks.
Transfer meat mixture to the slow cooker.
Add canned baked beans, bbq sauce, brown sugar, and worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine.
Turn the slow cooker to low and cook for 4 hours, or high for 2 hours.
Taste and adjust seasonings, if needed. Then serve with your favorite bbq dishes and enjoy!
- Be sure to cook bacon until rendered and crisp. You don’t want any flabby bacon bits!
- You can add different beans if want, like butter beans and kidney beans. My cowboy likes it simple so I always stick to traditional pinto baked beans.
